Hoosierland Park Opens May 1st – Camping Tips
Hoosierland Park opens in May 2009!
In the meantime, here are some Camping tips to help you get ready for Camping at Hoosierland Park in 2009!
Ah, yes, camping…Soon it will be that time of year again.
In this day and age of fast paced living, it’s just nice to take a break, sit by the fire and re-acquaint yourself with those most important to you. We spend so much time hurrying from place to place, that we tend to loose sight of the important things.
You definitely get the most for those hard earned dollars with camping. It is cheap to do, and you can avoid those commercial hot spots where all there is to do is spend money, they don’t usually have too many of those at the best fishing spots!
If you have decided to take my advice and take your family camping, here are a few pointers.
1. If tent camping, don’t forget to use seam sealer on the seams of your tent, you should do this once per year. Also, don’t forget that it may rain sometime on your trip. Pack some ponchos, and always set your tent up on a tarp, with the seams tucked in, on the highest spot in your site. Try not to get a sight that is out in the middle of a field where your tent is the tallest thing, in case of lightning. When you know it may rain, put your sleeping gear away from the sides of the tent, as anything touching the tent walls will allow moisture to seep through.
2. Definitely remember the mosquito repellant! Also, to avoid attracting the hungry varmints, don’t forget to pack up your food and put it away inside your car.
3. Most of all get back to the basics and enjoy yourself!
